Please could this ISAMS Standard report to export exam results data in the format required to upload to the ISC Data Portal be updated to replace any commas occurring in the Exam Subject column with another character, e.g. space?
ISC Support tells me that their CSV file import cannot cope with commas within any field. Commas can readily occur in the Exam Subject column as this is drawn straight from the UAB basedata , e.g. "8201 - ART & DESIGN (ART,CRAFT & DES)" . The comma causes their CSV import to skip those rows.
As the ISC seem to be unable to update their import routine to handle a properly quotes-enclosed comma in a CSV column, please would iSAMS apply the simple workaround of stripping the commas in the export report to save schools from either inadvertently uploading incomplete data, or having to remember to manually remove the commas before uploading the output?
Hi Brian,
Unfortunately forcing this on all users could cause issues as there would be no way to state which commas should be kept and which ones she be replaced.
The best way around this would be to amend any names to not include the commas, or you could use our reporting and analytics team to create a custom version of the report you require where it removes all commas from the export.
Regards
Joe
